I Love you, Mom

I stared at her from the bedroom door, suddenly finding myself looking at this woman whom I’ve lived 20 years with, from a different light.

The crowfeet under her eyes seem more obvious now, yet they seem to give her a characteristic smile when we manage to amuse her with witty comments. She is blow-drying her hair, like how she normally does after washing her hair and I cannot help but chuckle to myself as she gently lifted sections of her hair to blow-dry, as though her hair was most delicately precious to her. In fact, her hair is. 10 years of experimenting and getting chided during my childhood has taught me that. I watch as she lifted her fair arms which must have been much toned from basketball sessions and lifting piles of heavy textbooks. The outline of a little bulge appears beneath the body-hugging red blouse she has on, a testament of 3 pregnancies and 20 odd years of motherhood. She puts down the hair-dryer and finally notices me grinning from ear to ear.

Instead of exuding the airs of a 50 year old woman who has undergone hardships and survived through them, I can not help but marvel at how cute and naïve she comes across as. Cute is not a normal adjective used to describe mothers. But she really is. I have a sudden urge to proclaim how cute I think she is, to everyone, anyone who is willing to listen. I could go on and on, churning never-ending episodes of her, but you would not be interested to hear all of them anyway.

And that’s the dearest woman in my life. The reason why Mother's Day is worth commemorating.

Andrei and Devon

Time to blog again!! So much to update, yet so little time. So many ideas in my mind, but limited vocabulary knowledge to pen them down. (my) Health has'nt been so good. Have been on MC for 2 consective days due to my almost-eye-infection. My right eye (which had previously underwent surgery) turned reddish since last Saturday and wasn't showing any improvement despite using eyedrops. Coupled with irritation and swelling on my left eye, I turned up at work with durian-sized puffy eyes on Sunday and decided to head to the doc's on Monday. I'm now on 2 kinds of medicated eyedrops; one antibiotic and the other to counter irritation. Sad thing is, I won't be able to wear my contacts for a lonnnngggg time. Oh well..
Here's some back-dated (yet again) pictures of me and my baby.

=P

cycling & hawker-munching at East Coast Park

Grace,Andrei,East Coast Park
Love this picture to bits. My first-time editing a picture! If you have'nt noticed, the background's blurred so that it would seem like we are the main subjects. We ARE anyway!

East Coast Park
I insisted on full lenght against the beautiful scenery. We went down there on a weekend morning and weather was so damn good. Just the right amount of breeze and sun.

cycling!
And I (he) cycled. LOL.

sand-castle
Was wondering what this make-shift castle is doing right smack in the middle of East Coast. Anyone has any idea?

take 1,take 2,take 3
More pictures... my baby appears a little fatter in these pictures cause he put on some weight ever since he joined StarHub. But no worries! He's slimmed (plus toned) down loads! I'm looking pretty much haggard in these pictures. Shoulda just hide behind my shades.

We stopped by the hawker in the midst of our 2-hour cycle and had our brunch there. It offers a beautiful scenic view of the beach and sea. Had western and chicken rice. Normal hawker fare, but tasted so damn good! I heard that the hawker there is pretty much famous and lotsa peeps would visit it at night. Hmm, another dinner at the hawker yea?

cab-ing
Another edited picture! Blurring's real cool! We were so fatigued after the whole workout that we decided to splurge a little on a cab to Katong (for more food!.

al fresco at Jurong Point

Al Fresco Dinner at Jurong Point
For you all peeps out there who have'nt been to Jurong Point since months ago, you may wanna head down there for on a lazy WEEKDAY afternoon. I say weekday cause it would be flooded by BLANGA****, i mean foreign expats, on weekends. Many many stores have popped up during their revamp, and they range from beauty to healthcare to retail to food chains! Yea, food! We found this outdoor-themed foodcourt right outside the entrance to Jurong Point with quite a number of renowned food stalls. Check out the decor above. Kopitiam really pales in comparision with it.

pineapple fried rice,stir-fried prawn noodles,BBQ wings
Our dinner. Realise we eat quite alot nowadays haha. Finished everything in a short while cause the food was really good and we were famished after work. Yummy.

Can-did!

Al Fresco Dinner at Jurong Point
Insisted on sending him to his house that night, so we could spend more time together. More camming whilst waiting for my bus.

Desperately in need for a hairdo. =X

And if you think our dinner should have satisfied my appetite, think again! Made myself tomyam instant noodles with abalone and fish slices to go along with.

Self-cooked Dinner

I've got more to update, but am bummed out from editing the never-ending stream of pictures. More to come yea?! Some total randomness to end this entry. Pardon me.

Empty

Boy, I'm missing you.

Maybe we're trying
Trying too hard
Maybe we're torn apart
Maybe the timing
Is beating our hearts
We're empty

Work is tearing us apart.

And I even wonder
If we
Should be getting under
These sheets
We could lie in this bed
But it's empty
It's empty

I just wanna snuggle in your arms.
